How exciting! I'm really looking forward to hearing about your 5K.<br /><br />Disciplining desire is a long, slow process. Don't beat yourself up too much, and do something fun today. (Versus eating something fun.) <br /><br />It's the overall trend that counts - and you are definitely headed in the right direction! The current fluctuation is probably fluid retention from the sweets - you didn't eat the 9,000 calories it would take to actually gain 3 pounds.
